With Virtual Worlds News reporting that there are now at least 30 virtual worlds platform providers (a number which is sure to grow in the months ahead), it is ever more critical that the industry consider evolving towards a future system of distinct virtual worlds with increasingly lifelike avatars who can teleport between them. Not only might make today’s websites obsolete, but it would also help address some of the ethical questions by cordoning off the questionable behaviour – like the city streets you know not to walk at night.
By the way, it is interesting to note that neither Google Earth nor Unype nor Everyscape made it on Virtual Worlds News’ list.
